The Future of Non-Renewable Resources
Finding A Responsible Approach:
Fossil Fuels

Minerals
Protecting the Environment:
Causing Environmental Damage whilst extracting fossil fuels and minerals is inevitable. Although we cannot stop this problem many are doing things decrease the severity of the problem. Something everyone can do is recycle plastic and minerals. For example, when recycling cellphones the mineral tantalum can be reused, and if mining for tantalum goes down, the gorillas living in The Republic of Congo where tantalum is mined, have a chance that they won't go extinct from being endangered right now.

Along with Recycling minerals, there is also Land Reclaiming. This means that land that has been used for mining will now be put back to its normal state. It is brought back to it's normal state by planting trees, housing, farming, or even raising livestock. Land can also be reclaimed with the specific parts of the mining project closing. The picture to the right shows a Mongolian Family reclaiming mining land in Mongolia to raise some animals.

Working with People:
Many Indigenous people suffer from fossil fuel extraction, for example, in Magadan Oblast, Russia, the Chukchi peoples. The Chukchi people live traditionally, hunting, fishing, and reindeer herding all which is dependent on land, and if Oil and Gas companies choose to mine in there area it will be very difficult for the Chukchi people to have basic human needs.
